Ryedale Christian Council

 

For over forty years the Ryedale Christian Council has existed to promote co-operation between all Christians in Northern Ryedale. The geographic area covered is that of the Helmsley Anglican Deanery, of which the Parish of Upper Ryedale is part. Find out more about the Council and its work here.

Ryedale Family History Group

This group is established to help members to further their research into family and local history. A Research Room is open on Thursdays at Hovingham Village Hall between 10am and 3pm and at all other times by appointment. Visit our website here.

Rievaulx Abbey

 

Rievaulx Abbey lies just outside the parish but it has played a vital part in this area's history. Its ruins are now in the care of English Heritage. Here you can read a brief account of the abbey.

Church Tourism

 

The North Yorkshire Church Tourism Initiative is a partnership project set up by Yorkshire Tourist Board and the Churches Regional Commission for Yorkshire and the Humber to promote and enhance the county's churches as spiritual, cultural and heritage assets. You can read more about it here.
